About Me

mypicture.jpg

My name is Jathan Brubaker. I am a 29 year old Christian Mennonite from the state of Pennsylvania. I will be moving soon to go to Wisconsin and serve at a church and do construction work there! I believe that God has called Christians to constantly seek after Him, so that they can be servants to the world and show His Love to others! I desire to be His hands and feet with this website, and wherever I go and whatever I do!

Education: I grew up being home-schooled, at the time when that type of schooling was extremely unique.  If you have never been taught by your parents and your fellow siblings, or had the opportunity of teaching others, I feel as though you might have missed out some.  I was truly blessed to be raised in this environment!  Later in life I traveled all the way Wisconsin to learn more about the Bible, from Wisconsin Widerness Campus, a one year Bible College.  From there I went to Philadelphia Biblical University and received a Bible and Youth Ministry degree.

Hobbies:I love to draw and paint murals when I get a chance!  My favorite types of painting are portraits of people with as much detail as possible!

Sports:My favorite sports are roller hockey, volleyball, hunting, and fishing!  They are both extremely fast moving sports.  Especially when I play volleyball, I can become a different person!  I have been told that I am always diving and on the ground when I play this sport.  I don’t know if that is true or not, I am to busy following the flight of the volleyball.  After playing volleyball, it usually takes me a few hours to calm my body down.  I have played on the men’s volleyball team in the past at Philadelphia Biblical University.  There is a link below if you would like to see how amazing this volleyball team is!

  1. Bridget,
I don’t know if you will get this, because it is about 2 months later. I have not been checking this very often as you can tell.
To answer your first question, I was raised mennonite and to tell it very simply is that we hold strong to Jesus as our Savior from sin, and also in the peaceful way He lived His life. We want to treat others as we want to be treated, and to live peacefully with others to the best of our ability. We want to expound upon the love of Jesus to change people’s hearts, instead of weapons or other things we try to create to change people and bad situations. We believe that prayer is a very effective weapon!
To answer your other question about feeling discouraged, I know we all feel discouraged at times in our walk with Jesus! The important thing is that we keep moving forward looking to Jesus as our strength and our help. Knowing that of ourself we cannot attain righteousness. And the more we look to God for strength and the more we spend time with Him in the Bible, and through prayer the more we will feel His presence in our lives!
Keep pressing on! God never changes. He is always there ready to take you back time after time! And the closer we draw to Him, the closer He draws to us, and the stronger we are against evil in our lives!
    Hope this helps,
    God Bless,
    Wisconsinway
